大多数高考英语考纲词汇集，只列了单词、词性和词义，没有例句和辨析讲解。笔者试图在考纲词汇的基础上，给出例句或短语，并对个别重点词汇作出讲解、辨析，希望对老师的教学和学生的学习有所帮助。

知识在于积累。在没有特殊原因的情况下，我计划根据考纲词汇，每天坚持讲解几个单词，不断更新。

根据自己的情况，不忙，可能一天多更新几次，忙很了，也可能过几天才能更新。

在讲解过程中，错误在所难免，希望读者在发现错误的时候，及时在评论区给予批评、指正。

discourage v.

1. discourage sb (from doing sth).使气馁，失去信心。

Don’t let these little problems discourage you.

不要因为这些小问题而气馁。

2. discourage sb from doing sth.劝阻。

Consumers should be discouraged from throwing away glass and tins.应当劝阻消费者不要乱扔玻璃和白铁器皿。

discover vt. 发现：

Columbus discovered America in 1492.

哥伦布于1492年发现了美洲。

I discovered him kissing my wife.

我撞见他在吻我的妻子。

discovery n.[C,U]发现；被发现的事物：

Columbus’ discovery of America occurred in 1492.

哥伦布于1492年发现美洲。

discuss v.讨论，商议：

I want to discuss your work with you.

我想和你一起讨论你的工作。

They discussed selling the house. 他们商量过卖房子的事。

【注意】1.及物动词，后接宾语时不要按汉语意思在其后误加介词about。

2.后接动词作宾语时，要用动名词，不用不定式(除非其前有疑问词)：

We discussed do it. 我们讨论了该如何做此事。

3. 其后可接whether引导的宾语从句，不用if引导的宾语从句：

We discussed we should close the shop. 我们讨论了是否应该把店关掉。

discussion n.[C,U]讨论，议论：

class discussion 课堂讨论

The incident caused much discussion among the public.

这件事在公众中议论纷纷。

disease n. [C,U]病，疾病：

Disease is an enemy of mankind. 疾病是人类的敌人。

Some skin diseases are difficult to treat.

有些皮肤病很难治。

disgusting a.令人厌恶的，讨厌的。

What a disgusting smell !这气味真令人作呕！

dish n. [C]盘，碟，盘形物；一道菜：

He cleared away the dishes. 他收拾了餐具。

There are only two meat dishes on the menu. 菜单上只有两类肉类菜。

disk=disc n.磁盘。

dislike

v.不喜欢。

I really dislike flying.我真的不喜欢坐飞机。

n.不喜欢。

She couldn’t hide her dislike for him.

她无法掩饰对他的厌恶。

He seems to have a strong dislike of hard work.

他似乎对辛苦的工作很厌恶。
